is called the ‘land of opportunity’, ‘the home
of the brave’ and ‘the greatest nation on the face
of this earth.’ This is the great United States of America,
the envy of all other nations.
Little do most people around
the world know, however, that the people in this great nation
are governed by some of the dumbest laws ever made. Laws punishable
by imprisonment or fines if broken…laws which make you
wonder, ‘Has this great nation gone mad!.
Here are just some of the crazy
but true laws governing some of the citizens of this great
nation.
In Alabama
: It is illegal to sell peanuts in Lake County after 6:00
PM on Wednesdays. It is also illegal to carry ice-cream in
your back pocket. It gets worst…it is illegal to drive
your car blind folded, and you can be convicted for theft
of lost property if you find any thing of value in Alabama
and don’t turn it in.
Baltimore, Maryland
: It is illegal to take a lion to the movies.
New York:
A woman can walk topless in the streets of New York at any
time, as long as she is not being paid to do so.
Utah: It is
illegal to have sex in the back of an ambulance if it is responding
to an emergency call.
Seattle: A
person cannot eat a lollipop in public.
Pennsylvania:
A woman needs a permit to wear cosmetics.
Iowa: A man
with a mustache cannot kiss in public.
Connecticut:
It is illegal for anyone to walk back ways after sundown.
It is also illegal to sell toothbrush and toothpaste to the
same customer on a Sunday.
Maine: It
is illegal for a passenger to step out of an aircraft while
it is flying.
This has got to take the cake!
Anew law was recently passed in an unconfirmed State, saying
that a criminal must now notify his victim by mail or telephone
stating in detail the type of offense he plans to carry out
at least 24 hours before He does!
And believe it or not, in some parts of Texas and Iowa it
is illegal for a person to get married to someone of a different
race!
